shim The following photos were taken in the summer of 1999 by Stafford-Ames Morse in the Boxford Mass. area, from where Phineas Ames' American immigrant ancestors Robert Eames and Rebecca Blake settled.
Rebecca Ames Grave The full image is 96K This is Rebecca Blake Eames' grave, with the following inscription:

HERE LYES BURIED
THE BODY OF
REBEKAH EAMS
DIED MAY Y 8
1721 IN Y 82ND
YEAR OF HER AGE

shim Rebecca's grave is inexplicably located in the center of the Dole, Baker, and Foster family plots around her. Rebecca's daughter Hannah married Ephraim Foster. Perhaps this is the connection to the Foster family. (The caretaker for this cemetery is: Mt. Vernon Brookside Cemetery Corp., W. Boxford, MA 01885. )
shim Rebecca admitted to being, was convicted and was imprisoned as a witch (but was pardoned before she was executed). Notice the unusual (spooky?) face engraved above her name on the stone (used as the background image for this web page).

Joseph Ames House Marker Here is a white wooden stake found at a three way crossing on East 133 that reads "Joseph Eames house 1721" with an arrow pointing into the field beyond. No sign of a foundation was found in the area.

Near Joseph Ames House Marker Here is another view near the Joseph Eames house marker.
